This is a long challenge but an exciting one nonetheless. I found this from Hanna @Hannabanana98‘s blog a few months ago. The challenge called me from the great Book Tag beyond! I am finally heeding the call!
Author You’ve Read the Most Books From
This is an easy one. The man who has given children chills and thrills since the late 80s to present day, Mr. R.L. Stine. Ever since I was thirteen, I am STILL trying to collect all of his Fear Street series books. It may seem weird but he was my favorite author alongside Carolyn Keene and her vast amount of ghost writers for her Nancy Drew series. I still remember when my Aunt Sheila gave me a HUGE box filled with my cousin’s old Goosebumps and The Ghosts of Fear Street books. It sent me into hours and hours of reading about children getting involved with grotesque Haunted Masks, a Bug Man trying to find playmates for his larvae, a relentless killer ventriloquist dummy who would even give Chucky a run for his money, and many more.
Best Sequel Ever
Much like films, great book sequels are hard to come by. My brain is cluttered with so many book titles but the one that’s stood out the most is One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. The Night Huntress series is one I recommend for anyone. It has vampires, shifters, witches, adventures, twists, mystery, and the love story between Cat and Bones is pure #relationshipgoals.
Be prepared for a peak into the craziness I call my brain and reading “shelf”, as I call it. Between two jobs and writing here, it is sometimes difficult to find time to read. Thankfully, since I can listen to audio while I work, I’m able to download audiobooks via my library app and listen to them. I’ve gone through quite a few books lately that way. When I’m not listening to audiobooks, I’m either reading my ebooks or visiting the library. Here is what I’m currently soaking up, book wise:
Drink of Choice While Reading
Interesting question, it all depends on the time of day, really. There are times if I read in the morning, I drink tea. At night, water. In the middle of the day, it varies between either juice or soda. Tea, though, would be my favorite choice, by far.
E-Reader or Physical Book
Physical, physical, physical. Although ebooks are trying to win my heart over these days.
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated in High School
This is extremely difficult to pin down! There are too many male characters I would have wanted to date. Currently, I’d say Stephan Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries book series. Much like Elena (who is a blonde in the book series!), I’m tied between Stephan and Damon, but Stephan wins in the end. Do NOT get me started on the differences between the book and television series. That is for another post!
Glad You Gave this Book a Chance
Toughie, probably The Perfectionists by Sarah Beard. I recently did a review on this one. I heard mostly not-so-pleasant reviews considering other readers commented it being similar to Pretty Little Liars. After reading this series, I’m glad I tried it out! It is shorter, simpler, and the ending in the second book is completely unexpected.
Hidden Gem Book
Books should have a lesson it’s reader may learn from. If a book I’m reading turns out it doesn’t have one, I’m left sort of disappointed to be honest. A book I’ve recently finished I shall truly cherish is The Silver Thread by Emigh Cannaday. If you haven’t read the first one, do so before reading this one. These books are gems you MUST have on your shelf or Kindle!
Important Moment in Your Reading Life
An important moment in my reading life was the point where I decided to write about my love of reading on here. Although I’m still trying to get the hang of opening up via writing on a blog, I love to see what other people write and learn that we all have the same love for our stories.
Last week, I read and listened to quite a few books, reviews are soon to come!
Kind of Books You Won’t Read
There are very few books I will not read, but when it comes down to it, it’d have to be plain Westerns. I can sit through Westerns mixed with other genres but not solely Westerns themselves.
Longest Book You’ve Read
It’s a cross between The Bible and Gone With The Wind.
Major Book Hangover
Memories, memories, memories….Harry Potter series, Sookie Stackhouse series, and The Night Huntress series. All three made me fully fall in love with vampires, magic, and wizards. The last Sookie Stackhouse book was a cop-out. It was apparent Charlaine Harris did not write it. The others, it took me quite awhile to get over their endings.
One Book You’ve Read Multiple Times
Preferred Place to Read
My living room, it’s cozy and the light comes in perfectly. Ok, ok, it’s truly because my cat Josie always curls up next to me and falls to sleep. For some reason it peaces me out and helps me delve further into whatever I’m reading.
Quote that Inspires You/Gives You all the Feels from a Book You’ve Read
Twilight, Twilight, Twilight. And Beautiful Darkness. My mind is beginning to draw blanks but if a story reminds me of Twilight, chances are I regret reading it.
Series You Started and Need to Finish
Three of Your All-Time Favorite Books
Unapologetic Fangirl For
Sookie Stackhouse Novels!
Very Excited for this Release more than All Others
Honestly, I have been reading so many books that I’m behind on what’s being released right now. Looks like I may need to research more right now.
Worst Bookish Habit
My worst Bookish habit is having a huge line of books I’ve started and still need to finish to this day. This includes books I started six years ago and my bookmarks remain in the same place. Please don’t hate me! I’m trying to slowly catch up aside with my current reads.
X Marks the Sport: Start on the Top Left of Your Shelf and Pick the 27th Book
Your Latest Purchase
The first novel in this series is on my Need To Read list, but I found the second book for $.50 yesterday at a Thrift Store and I couldn’t say no. I guess this means I need to catch up on this series now.
Zzzzz-Snatcher Book (last book that kept you up way too late)
I still am reeling over this book! The series is perfect, especially this sequel. I’m forcing myself to wait to read the last book. I’m not ready for another book hangover! But this book had me up reading till 3 AM on a Monday night. I almost was late to work the next day but it was totally worth it.
My brain is officially spent for the day! I challenge all of you readers to try this challenge out. Don’t forget to tag me in your posts so I can read your responses!
